Will engage in research, investigations, studies, or examinations related to the engineering functions or activities of the department or agency. Prepares designs and plans using AutoCAD, and evaluate contract documents and specifications, working drawings, and other technical specifications and estimates of quantities. Candidates will coordinate with design consultants and review submitted plans.
This role involves planning, developing, designing, and implementing street improvement projects to improve safety for pedestrians, motor vehicles, bicyclists, and motorcyclists. It focuses on incorporating proven safety treatments, including “hardened daylighting” at intersections to improve visibility for all users. Key tasks include performing research and crash analysis, designing and implementing street improvement projects, and analyzing traffic data.
Undertake a range of professional transportation and traffic-related projects, studies, and investigations. Coordinate sign removals, replacements, minor repairs, and the development and maintenance of a tracking system within TCE's Sign Information Management System (SIMS) to efficiently monitor all highway signs. Document existing conditions and issues, propose improvements, conduct field investigations, and may supervise staff.
The Executive Director (ED) of the Finance Group within Parking Operations, will guide and oversee all aspects of the revenue and financial-related functions of the Division, including revenue reporting, reconciliation, adjustments, budget and fiscal, contract administration, and customer service. The four units reporting to the ED are responsible for reporting revenue generated by Parking’s programs (meters, payment app, garage parking and quarterly permits), adjusting customers’ transactions, analysis and projection of revenue for annual targets and PEGs, sales of permits, budgeting and spending to support the operations, contract administration, in addition to the managerial and human resources aspects of this work group.
Supervises a unit engaged in planning, designing, configuring, installing, testing, troubleshooting, integrating, performance monitoring, maintaining, enhancing, security management, and support of computer applications programs, and also serves as a project leader for complex projects involving computer application programs. This involves developing an application that coordinates between the OTI Poletop reservation system and the DOT system, mapping for inspection planning needs, as well as tracking and construction inspections.
The Staff Analyst Level 2 will develop Standard Operating Procedure (SOPs) manuals, liaise between work groups, prepare memos, update spreadsheets, and prepare work flow diagrams to ensure programs are accomplished effectively and efficiently, under the direction of the Management Auditor Level 2 and the Deputy Director of Operations Review.
Oversee development and updating of street designs citywide, aiming to reduce preventable injuries and deaths on New York City’s streets by creating and maintaining engineering design standards. Responsibilities include field investigations, engineering design plan evolution using AutoCAD and Civil 3D, and oversight of borough project engineers' design plans.
The Borough Deputy Director of Design will fill a need within TPM, D&C, Design Unit for street and highway transportation engineering, with responsibilities including field investigations and measurements, engineering design plan evolution using AutoCAD and Civil 3D engineering design software, oversight of the engineering design plans of borough project engineers, in coordination with the Borough Director of Design. Additional responsibilities include reviews of Capital Street and highway proposals and plans, engineering design analyses, presenting engineering judgement and recommendations for street and highway designs and other stakeholder requests.
