Design and implement security controls for PlanetScale's cloud-native database platform, protecting millions of queries per second. Collaborate with engineering teams to conduct security reviews, threat modeling, and provide secure coding guidance across our distributed systems. Evaluate, procure, and implement proactive security tools and technologies. Build security automation and tooling to scale security practices.

Advise and handle support requests from enterprise customers on the PlanetScale platform. Become a customer-facing subject-matter expert, identifying product gaps and escalating them while participating in an on-call rotation for high-priority issues. Requires excellent debugging and communication skills and comfort delving into unfamiliar code.

You will design and build critical systems that power PlanetScale's database platform, serving millions of queries per second for some of the world's largest applications. You will collaborate with a team of expert engineers to solve complex distributed systems challenges. You will work independently to solve engineering and business problems with little direction and high autonomy.
