Job Description

Serve as the first line of response for emerging media issues (policy changes, safety incidents, regulatory developments, litigation, etc.) Draft and refine statements, FAQs, reactive messaging, and press materials quickly and accurately. Monitor and surface trends, narratives, and risks to cross-functional partners in real time. The role proactively builds trust & safety-focused narratives that reinforce Reddit’s content moderation framework and privacy model. Develop and execute proactive media strategies / comms plans highlighting Reddit’s safety systems, transparency efforts, and policy evolution. Coordinate safety-focused media interviews, briefings, and speaking opportunities; manage logistics, prep, and follow-ups. Work closely with Legal, Safety, Public Policy, Product, and other teams to ensure consistent messaging and alignment. Project-manage multi-team initiatives, ensuring timely delivery of comms assets and stakeholder review. Support major safety product, policy, or legal announcements with comms planning, drafting, and coordination. Conduct research on industry trends, emerging risks, regulatory landscapes, and best practices, including producing recommendations and analysis based on this research. Track global safety developments and provide region-specific comms guidance as needed. Track and report out the impact of Trust & Safety communications. Maintain issue trackers, media coverage reports, and cross-functional alert systems.
