Senior DB Engineer (PostgreSQL)

ELEKS is seeking a Senior Database Developer (PostgreSQL) to join their team in Ukraine. In this role, you will be working on a project involving the development of a track-and-trace system for electronic excise stamps, which aims to replace traditional paper excise stamps. Your primary responsibilities will include initiating and leading comprehensive audits of the PostgreSQL database to identify performance bottlenecks and assess technical debt. You'll collaborate with the team to establish structured processes for long-term performance improvements. Furthermore, you will be diagnosing and addressing recurring issues impacting application speed and user workflows, shifting from short-term fixes to sustainable solutions. You will also identify inefficient database patterns that drive up cloud costs and potentially hinder development projects. Serving as the go-to database expert in a team with limited internal DB expertise, you'll guide best practices and optimization efforts throughout the development process.
