Intern, Public Engagement Communications (July- December)

Oxfam America is seeking an energetic and enthusiastic Intern to work closely with its Public Engagement division. This position will provide communications support to a diverse and multi-functional Public Engagement division in service of Oxfam’s mission to fight inequality to end poverty and injustice. The Intern will have the opportunity to gain practical skills and get an inside understanding of communications, campaigning, lobbying, grassroots organizing and outreach within an international development agency. The internship offers a friendly and open work environment with supportive staff with whom to share knowledge, career advice, and workplace mentoring. Primary responsibilities include monitoring and compiling news mentions of Oxfam’s work, managing requests from journalists, providing administrative support for community events like Hunger Banquets, tracking social media trends, assisting in social media posting, reviewing digital and web content, and task management using Asana.
