Design Apprenticeship – Penguin Publishing Group Art Department (Remote)

Program Structure:

• The apprentice works 15 hours per week: 5 synchronous hours (Mon-Fri, 9am-5pm EST) and 10 asynchronous hours.
• Program runs from September 2026 to April 2027.
• Salary is $21.00/hour.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage and design multiple front covers and mechanicals.
• Assist with book cover design, repackaging, and other creative projects.
• Support Art Director(s) with research, layouts, and presentations.
• Coordinate with departments like editorial, production, and prepress.

Qualifications:

• Minimum of three years of design experience in any industry.
• Proficiency with Adobe Suite: Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator.
• Strong layout, typography, and time management skills.
• Ability to work independently and in a team.
