Job Description

SGS Global Biosciences is looking for an Expert Researcher who will work at the Global Biosciences Center in Lisbon, Portugal, under the framework of the Horizon Europe project BAMBOO (ID 101059379).

The project (“Biodiversity and Trade: Mitigating the Impacts of Non-Food Biomass Global Supply Chains”) aims to quantify the impacts of global trade on biodiversity by developing hybrid multiregional input-output (MRIO) and integrated biodiversity assessment models.

Role and Responsibilities:

Lead technical tasks in Work Package 7: Retail Case Studies. Conduct baseline assessments using project models (MRIO: EXIOBASE & FABIO; biodiversity: LC-IMPACT & GLOBIO) and retail partner data for non-food biomass products. Execute scenario-based analyses to help retail partners identify biodiversity leverage points along supply chains. Develop and model up to three scenarios per case study. Assess model data availability and usability, producing supporting documentation for future industry uptake. Collaborate with project partners and align work with WP4 activities.

Working Conditions: Remote work is possible, but some visits and meetings at the Lisbon headquarters will be required. Occasional travel abroad may be necessary to meet project partners and stakeholders.
