Job Description
Drive Western Digital's activities at key storage interface standards setting organizations in order to grow WD's business, further its technology strategies, and improve its market leadership. Includes working extensively with internal business groups and engineering teams to define standards initiatives in sync with, and in furtherance of, WD goals, as well as representing WD in the standards committees, and in regards to standards-related issues, with strategic partners and customers. This is a challenging position spanning a broad range of technical disciplines and having sufficient depth in each, as well as strong relationship and program management skills. Attend face to face meetings and conference calls representing WDC in industry standards committees (e.g., NVMe, T10, T13, SATA-IO, SNIA). Provide briefings for WDC teams on new and evolving standards. Work with WDC teams (e.g., SoC, HW, Validation, Planning) to drive the development of WDC positions in standards bodies. Work with WDC stakeholders and industry partners to write standards proposals. Analyze and interpret complex technical data to inform standards development and implementation strategies.
