Physical Scientist for EVU Regional Verification

Key Responsibilities:

• Apply object-oriented verification methods (e.g., METplus MODE) for high-resolution model evaluation.
• Work with developers on RRFS, REFS, and WoFS to create automated verification workflows.
• Act as technical liaison between the Weather Prediction Center and EVU/OMD on NBM and NDFD verification.

Required Qualifications:

• M.S. in atmospheric sciences or related field with 7+ years of experience in numerical model analysis.
• Extensive Python experience in HPC UNIX environments for verification metrics and visualization.
• Proficiency with GitHub and meteorological data formats (GRIB2, NetCDF, HDF, BUFR).
