Staff AI Engineer (Conversational Analytics)

TELUS Digital seeks Senior AI Engineer with deep expertise in Conversational AI, Natural Language Processing (NLP), Generative AI, and cloud-native ML systems and strong Leadership Skills. This role is ideal for someone who thrives at the intersection of technical execution, product impact, and cross-functional leadership. You will lead end-to-end AI solution development —from initial requirements gathering and stakeholder alignment to model deployment, visualization, and storytelling. You’ll work with cutting-edge LLMs, design production-grade NLP systems, and deploy scalable AI applications on the Google Cloud Platform (GCP). This includes leveraging tools like Vertex AI, Dialogflow, Kubernetes (GKE), and vector databases to build secure, high-impact solutions. Responsibilities include owning the full AI solution lifecycle, building and optimizing vector search and retrieval-augmented generation (RAG) systems, architecting and operationalizing ML workflows using Vertex AI, GKE, and related GCP tools, and developing clear, audience-specific visualizations and dashboards to communicate complex AI outcomes. Also, champion ML best practices and mentor junior team members.
