About Matter Labs:
- Builds private settlement infrastructure using zero-knowledge cryptography for regulated institutions.
- Fully remote team of around 70, backed by a16z and Union Square Ventures, with eight years of production zero-knowledge infrastructure.
The Role:
- Protect ZKsync's core: smart contracts, ZK circuits, and blockchain nodes through reviews, threat models, and incident response.
- Own internal security reviews of critical components and carry broad license to spot gaps and fix them.
What You'll Do:
- Break things on purpose by threat-modeling and reviewing Solidity contracts, Rust blockchain state transition functions, and other critical systems.
- Own protocol components from design review through production, ensuring secure architecture and implementation.
- Track the adversary, follow industry hacks and exploits, and convert lessons into concrete improvements.
What We Look For:
- Demonstrated capability in security engineering or research with findings you can explain mechanism by mechanism.
- Proficiency in strongly typed languages like C++, Go, or Scala; Rust and Solidity are primary but prior experience not required.
- Deep grounding in algorithms, data structures, and protocol-level debugging on complex distributed systems.
