Job Description
As a Database Manager, you will improve the efficiency of database tools and services. You will assist in designing, structuring, and maintaining Oracle databases and enhance the scalability and performance of current database structures. Monitoring database performance and upgrading technologies is also a key aspect of the role.
You will update systems as needed and create data backups for disaster recovery. You'll perform diagnostic tests and evaluate performance metrics. You will recruit, supervise, and oversee the database development teams, ensuring disaster recovery plans are created, adhered to, and able to be executed in case of data failure.
Additional responsibilities include developing test versions and conducting bug testing, safeguarding data by implementing security and restoration controls, and reporting to senior management teams and invested stakeholders. Staying current with technological advancements and preparing/delivering presentations on Database Management System (DBMS) concepts are also essential components of the role.
