Data Engineer, Contract

A client of 66degrees’ is seeking a Data Engineer to engage on a 6 months remote contract with the potential to extend. Interested candidates should have the required skills and the ability to work independently as well as within a team environment. Responsibilities include designing, developing, and maintaining scalable and efficient data pipelines using Google Cloud Platform (GCP) services, specifically BigQuery, Cloud Composer (Apache Airflow), and Cloud Run. You will implement and manage data transformation logic using Dataform (or dbt) to ensure data quality, consistency, and reusability. Also lead and execute the migration of existing data solutions from SQL Server to GCP, including schema conversion, data transfer, and validation. Develop, test, and deploy data ingestion and processing scripts using Python. Manage and optimize data storage solutions in Google Cloud Storage (GCS), ensuring data accessibility and cost-effectiveness.
