Job Description

Under direction of the Deputy Director, Alternative Energy, the Engineer will work on alternative energy and electrical/mechanical code related issues, review requests for material approval, and work on other various technical subject matters. They will research, evaluate, and document use of materials in accordance with the NYC Construction Codes. The Engineer will manage technical review and approval of applications and other documents submitted to the department in connection with alternative energy projects. Providing guidance to applicants in connection with such projects, supporting technical research for advancing energy legislation and policy within the city. The Engineer will also coordinate with various agencies, seek cooperation from the City University of New York, and assist in making recommendations to streamline the process for obtaining necessary approvals.
