Security Engineer

We’re seeking a Security Engineer to lead security, compliance, and Authority to Operate (ATO) activities for mission-critical federal health platforms. In this role, you’ll ensure that systems are secure, accredited, and aligned with VA and federal standards—balancing compliance with modern engineering practices to deliver reliable, secure services for millions of users. The role requires proven experience in security engineering and compliance within federal health or mission-critical cloud systems, hands-on expertise with ATO processes, risk management frameworks (RMF), and security control implementation. The candidate should have proficiency with monitoring and vulnerability tools ( Splunk, Tenable, Qualys, or similar ) and a proactive mindset toward security automation, compliance-as-code, and continuous monitoring .
