Freelance Infrastructure Finance Reporter (APAC Focus)

The Role:

• Produce high-quality, exclusive journalism on infrastructure investment activity across Australia and the Asia-Pacific region.
• Focus on greenfield project finance, new project developments, PPPs, infrastructure fund strategies, and M&A and debt transactions.
• Deliver both real-time reporting and deeper analysis for institutional investors, lenders, developers, and advisory firms.

Key Responsibilities:

• Produce a consistent pipeline of exclusive articles and analysis on infrastructure finance transactions and investment trends.
• Break news on project finance deals, M&A processes, debt/equity fundraising, and secondary market activity.
• Build and maintain a strong regional network of sources including developers, funds, banks, and policymakers.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

• Proven experience in financial journalism, ideally covering infrastructure finance, energy, or project finance markets.
• Strong track record of breaking exclusive stories and developing proprietary angles.
• Solid understanding of project finance, PPP structures, debt and equity capital markets, and Australian infrastructure policy.
