Director of Data

Core Responsibilities:

• Lead, mentor, and grow a small but mighty data team while remaining hands-on with data architecture, modeling, and analytics.
• Contribute directly as an individual contributor in data engineering and infrastructure, establishing high standards for data quality.
• Partner cross-functionally with Product, Engineering, Marketing, and more to deliver trusted data resources.

Desired Experience & Skills:

• 10+ years in data engineering, analytics, or related roles with 5+ years managing teams.
• Strong experience with modern data infrastructure like SQL, dbt, Redshift, and self-serve tools such as Omni, Amplitude, and Statsig.
• Proven ability to balance leadership with hands-on technical contribution and drive data-informed decisions.

Other Considerations:

• Experience in EdTech or building products for learners, educators, or families.
• Familiarity with search, discovery, recommendations, or marketplace systems.
• Experience at a fast-paced startup or high-growth company.
