Job Description

The position supports the development team by managing development communications, leading major donor research, and supporting the major giving pipeline through donor relationship development, stewardship, and solicitation. Tasks include detail-oriented administrative and research work as well as high-touch major gifts fundraising. Working with business and editorial staff, the Officer will contribute directly to ambitious fundraising goals and ensure that a major digital news organization is sustainable. Responsibilities include collaborating with the Chief Philanthropy Officer to conduct prospecting, establishing engagement plans for stewardship and solicitation of members and prospects, wealth screening, event leadership, and managing campaigns. They will create and manage donor database reports with CRM systems to support major-donor fundraising goals.
