Forensic Toxicologist - Independent Contractor

Compensation and Benefits:

• Hourly rate of $75-$110 per hour for record review, report writing, case consultation, and meetings.
• Testimony compensation: $750 per half-day and $1,500 per full day, with additional $150 for travel days over 100 miles one-way.
• Completion bonus equal to 100% of all previously billed amounts upon successful case closure.

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in chemistry or related scientific field; at least 2 years of lab experience testing blood and bodily fluids.
• Experience with microscopic techniques, chromatography, and spectrograph analysis; forensic/criminology lab background preferred.
• Must maintain professional liability insurance, have a clean criminal background, and work from a dedicated, quiet home office with high-speed internet.

Work Environment and Expectations:

• Independent contractor role with variable caseload of 5-20 hours per week; no guaranteed hours.
• Out-of-state travel may be required on short notice for testimony.
