Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervise, mentor, and train accounting staff; manage workload distribution to meet all departmental deadlines.
  • Perform first-level review of journal entries, reconciliations, and financial statements for GAAP compliance.
  • Identify and implement streamlined accounting procedures and internal controls.

Operational Duties:

  • Ensure projects fulfill financial obligations per WIOA guidelines, policies, and contract requirements.
  • Oversee employee expenses, vendor invoices, program payroll analytics, and monthly advance requests.
  • Lead month-end closing, including balance sheet reconciliations and audit management.

Position Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance and 7+ years of accounting experience with at least 2 years in a supervisory role.
  • Advanced knowledge of GAAP, WIOA/grant experience preferred, and proficiency in QuickBooks, Adaptive Workday, and Expensify.
  • Exceptional communication and organizational skills with the ability to work virtually and manage multiple priorities.
