As an engineer on the Safety Processing team, you will work on the core safety pipeline — ingesting signals, like user reports, and the processing of those signals through automated and manual means. Partner with ML teams, AI tooling integrations, and build Agent facing tooling for manual review. Modernize both server side business logic & UI’s for agent facing tooling across the full stack role.

As a member of the Product Policy organization, the role will lead efforts to build safe products in collaboration with Product and Engineering, focused on Discord’s public API, SDKs, and our developer ecosystem.The expert will partner with cross-functional roles to identify safety risks and opportunities in new product changes, build mitigations into the product design and contribute to product strategy; Own the Discord Developer Policies, governing the acceptable uses of our public API and SDKs by third-party developers; Work closely with the Safety cross-functional group to evaluate the policy and enforcement impacts on new product changes, and scope the necessary requirements to support those teams.

A detail-oriented professional is needed to ensure the accuracy, consistency, and quality of moderation decisions that uphold Discord's community standards. You will review and audit moderation decisions related to minor safety and exploitative content. You will also provide constructive feedback to moderators, develop calibration sessions, influence policy updates, and report on quality trends.

As a Senior Software Engineer, you will define and execute the technical vision for Discord's data platform, enabling scalable, reliable, and performant data systems. You will design, implement, and optimize data infrastructure to process and analyze petabytes of data across millions of users. You will partner with data scientists, data engineers, product managers, and leadership to align technical solutions with business goals.

The Scaled Operations team is responsible for primarily reactive policy enforcement, quality assurance, appeals processing, data analysis, agent training, model application, and cross-functional safety initiatives. Supervise and collaborate with outside counsel on complex matters. Continue to build and implement systems for efficient e-discovery. Monitor new and changing laws and anticipate evolving litigation liability and risk. Learn how disputes arise and identify ways to pre-empt them.
