Senior Backend Engineer

We are hiring a Senior Backend Engineer to join the team behind SequencingAI — our advanced chat-based experience that delivers personalized insights and recommendations based on a user’s genetic data. You will be building high-performance services and infrastructure that power our AI-driven features, all tailored using the latest research and our proprietary One Genome technology. In this role, you will support the backend for our mobile native apps, collaborating closely with the lead backend engineer responsible for our AI infrastructure. You will also take co-ownership of new systems and features — from design and implementation to deployment and optimization. You will design, build, and maintain performant backend services in TypeScript and support and optimize backend systems for mobile native applications. You will integrate and manage services like PostgreSQL, MySQL, AWS SQS, and Centrifugo. Work with OpenAI APIs and other AI frameworks to build intelligent, personalized user experiences. You will also ensure high system reliability, security, and observability across services.
