Data Quality / Data Governance Specialist

Responsibilities and Duties:

• Implement and operationalize data governance frameworks, policies, and standards to enforce practices within data pipelines.
• Define and enforce data contracts between producers and consumers, establishing ownership and accountability models for data assets.
• Design and implement data quality frameworks to ensure accuracy, completeness, and consistency of data across datasets.

Technical Implementation:

• Ensure data quality and governance across batch processing architectures and real-time/streaming systems.
• Work hands-on with modern data technologies, including Python, SQL, Spark, and AWS services like Kinesis and Lambda.
• Integrate governance and quality controls into data pipelines and workflows using tools and formats like Apache Iceberg.

Collaboration and Impact:

• Collaborate with Data Engineers, Data Scientists, and Business stakeholders to ensure trusted data usage and support incident resolution.
• Educate teams on data governance best practices and continuously identify opportunities to improve data reliability.
• Partner with engineering teams to embed governance by design and implement preventive measures for data quality issues.
