Lead Software Engineer – Real-Time Events

Role Overview:

• You will design, build, and operate the ZMP real-time events pipeline ingesting, processing, and delivering high-volume event data.
• This is a highly hands-on individual contributor role with ownership of architecture for the parts of the pipeline you lead.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide technical leadership and thought leadership by evaluating and implementing emerging technologies for cost, latency, or operational advantage.
• Engage in architectural discussions, define stable contracts with downstream consumers, and mentor through design and code reviews.
• Partner with Product, Data, and ZMP consumer teams to turn SLAs into working systems, and instrument services for reliability.

Desired Qualifications:

• Minimum 8–10 years in software engineering including lead/staff-level work on event, streaming, or data-infrastructure systems.
• Production experience with Kafka, Python services (e.g., FastAPI), pipeline processing (Spark/EMR), and AWS (S3, SQS/SNS, Lambda, RDS).
• Fluency in Python or substantial experience in Scala and Java, plus skilled with data stores like Postgres, Redis, DynamoDB, and orchestrators like Airflow.
