Role and Responsibilities:
- Own the long-term technical direction and build prioritized roadmaps for application security.
- Lead large, cross-functional security initiatives from problem definition through delivery.
- Design and implement shared security tooling, libraries, patterns, and services.
Technical Expertise:
- Requires 8+ years in software engineering and application security with deep expertise in secure system design.
- Strong experience securing modern, cloud-native systems on AWS and/or GCP.
- Proven track record in threat modeling, secure design patterns, and vulnerability remediation workflows.
Collaboration and Impact:
- Partner with Product, Engineering, and Data teams to shape system design and guide architectural decisions.
- Mentor engineers, support incident response, and drive organization-wide improvements in security.
- Balance pragmatism and rigor, making thoughtful tradeoffs between risk, velocity, and maintainability.
