About the role:
- Data and Analytics is a critical team enabling integrated data layers for all of Samsara.
- We are looking for a Senior Data Engineer who brings a software engineer's mindset to data infrastructure.
- You'll architect Spark-driven workflows, design data platforms as products, and build AI-augmented tooling.
What you'll do:
- Develop and maintain end-to-end data pipelines and backend ingestion workflows.
- Build and operate large-scale Spark and PySpark workflows for batch and streaming processing.
- Design systems with long-term maintainability and define data engineering standards.
Who you are:
- You have 8+ years of experience as a Software Engineer with data focus or as a Data Engineer.
- You have 5+ years of hands-on Spark/PySpark in production and strong programming in Python and SQL.
- You are excited about AI-augmented engineering and want to shape how data engineering works at scale.
