Job Description

Technical Leadership:

-Provide technical leadership to the Product API team, offering guidance on system architecture and design.

-Coach team members and mentor new hires to foster growth and development.

-Collaborate with product and client engineering teams to design and deliver performant GraphQL APIs.

API Development:

-Own and evolve critical product subsystems, including recommendations, catalog, search, and notifications.

-Build and maintain proxy and augmentation layers that integrate domain services from across the organization.

-Drive continuous improvements to the reliability, performance, and scalability of Philo's product API infrastructure.

Data and Experimentation:

-Collaborate with data science and product analytics teams to instrument the API layer for experimentation and A/B testing.

-Build and enhance observability tools to proactively monitor API performance and debug issues.

-Work with infrastructure teams to optimize database queries and implement effective caching strategies.
