Cybersecurity Assessment and Authorization Subject Matter Expert (SME)

Serve as a cybersecurity Subject Matter Expert (SME) supporting the Assessment and Authorization (A&A) of DoD information systems and related cybersecurity policies and procedures. Perform DOD cybersecurity processes for authorizing information systems or advising on systems undergoing authorization. Apply knowledge of NIST 800-53 security controls to assess and authorize large-scale IT infrastructures, including AIS applications and outsourced IT environments. Determine the severity of identified vulnerabilities and assess potential impacts on system authorization. Brief senior leadership on authorization progress and Risk Management Framework (RMF) process outcomes. Conduct security control assessments and authorization reviews for large, complex enterprise systems. Support DOD cybersecurity policies, procedures, and processes, including RMF implementation.
