Head of Security

About the Role:

• You'll be our first Head of Security, owning the whole posture across access, identity, SecOps, monitoring, incident response, and vendor security.
• This is a player-coach role where you do hands-on work and define when to build a team.
• You'll report to the VP of Engineering, embedded with engineering for real implementation.

What You'll Do:

• Own Tremendous' security posture end-to-end, partnering with engineering on production infrastructure and code security.
• Assess gaps, prioritize them, and tackle highest-leverage gaps first.
• Drive security as a cultural shift, introducing controls incrementally and working with teams.

What You'll Bring:

• Real, hands-on security experience at a company that scaled, as an early security hire.
• Deep experience in at least one core security domain with enough range to reason across others.
• An engineer's mindset with ability to code and understand our stack (Ruby on Rails, TypeScript, React, PostgreSQL, Google Cloud).
