Job Description
The Data Integrity Specialist 1 is responsible for maintaining the integrity of patient health records by monitoring, measuring, and reporting on documentation created by healthcare providers. This role involves collaborating within the Health Information Department as part of a Data Quality Team, focusing on auditing electronic medical records for key Joint Commission and CMS Standards/Regulations.
The specialist continuously evaluates the integrity of data in the electronic health record to identify and correct inconsistencies and fulfill requests. They determine the correct action to ensure the integrity of patient health information, answer staff questions, and communicate policies, procedures, and regulatory standards. They also helps coordinate, plan, define, and test improvements for data collection and verification. The role includes creating, modifying, and enhancing reports and analyzing moderately complex data, working with departments to develop and implement an accuracy model, and serving as a role model and mentor to other staff members.
