Principal Data Architect - Battery Storage

Role and Impact:

• This role sits at the intersection of data architecture, analytics platforms, and data engineering, focusing on turning a multi-source data environment into a trusted analytical ecosystem.
• You will set the strategic vision for how the company defines, organizes, and uses data, driving pragmatic steps to get there.
• Success means delivering continuous value through better data discoverability, fewer conflicting metrics, and increasing trust while converging on a clear long-term architecture.

Key Responsibilities:

• Define data architecture standards for analytics, including data modeling, naming conventions, and schema design across the organization.
• Own the data catalog and metadata strategy, collaborating with stakeholders to define and organize data assets across multiple domains.
• Contribute hands-on with SQL and Python, developing reference data models, prototypes, and example implementations to demonstrate architectural intent.

Technical Environment and Collaboration:

• Collaborate closely with Data Engineering leadership and application teams on ELT patterns, Snowflake usage, and schema evolution.
• Support data analysts by establishing consistent data usage and modeling standards across a wide range of technical skill levels.
• Design high-ingestion pipelines capable of handling millions of data points per second from globally distributed battery sites, ensuring compliance with grid-specific regulations like NERC CIP.
