Senior Backend Engineer (Rails)

We’re looking for a Senior Backend Engineer experienced in Ruby on Rails, Sidekiq, Redis, and PostgreSQL to enhance mission-critical digital services for the Department of Veterans Affairs. Experience with the VA’s technical ecosystem—such as their GitHub standards, VA Platform One, and VA design or API frameworks—is highly valued. The role involves building and maintaining scalable backend services, utilizing Sidekiq for background job processing and Redis for caching, and optimizing PostgreSQL database performance. The candidate will diagnose and resolve production issues, prioritize tasks, manage dependencies, and work in Agile environments. They Performs other related duties as assigned.
