Director - Health & Safety - Asset Optimization

This position provides strategic leadership for HSES in AO, and worker’s compensation across the entire organization, including the oversight of AO HSES programs and functions. The role involves developing, supporting, and promoting programs for a safe and healthy environment for employees and contractors, and developing policies, procedures and programs necessary to ensure compliance with applicable federal state and local regulations across the US and Canada operating sites. Responsibilities include supervising the field safety team, providing leadership and management that emphasizes teamwork, developing policies, procedures, and programs necessary to ensure compliance, providing communications, training, education, and outreach, advising executive leadership, assessing organizational risk, and maintaining metrics and benchmarking data. The role requires a bachelor’s degree in science, Engineering or related Environmental Health and Safety disciplines, and one or more professional certifications in the field of safety.
