Job Description
The assistant/associate professor of the clinical mental health counseling program is responsible for teaching 12 courses per academic year, including clinical or academic courses. The administrative load includes advising and assisting the Director with curriculum development, assessment, accreditation, and committee participation. The candidate must be eligible for inclusion as core, full faculty for MPCAC and CACREP accreditation.
Key responsibilities include teaching courses related to counseling theory, psychopathology, professional identity, multiculturism, and ethics. Also include counseling methods, research, tests and assessments, group counseling, career counseling, clinical practicum and internship, and specialty areas including sport and performance psychology. Prepare syllabi; update course materials; participate in course and program learning outcome assessments; continuously improve course materials; and develop curriculum.
Additional responsibilities include student advising, scholarship, service, and professional identity maintenance.
