Senior Backend Engineer

The Mission:

• Solve the problem of players drowning in content and abandoning games due to pacing, friction, or getting stuck.
• Build an augmentation and intelligence layer that reads game state in real time across desktop, web, and in-game overlays.

the backend:

• Scope, design, ship, and stabilize services that power the product with full ownership of fixes.
• Make architectural calls on data model evolution, caching boundaries, and latency budgets.
• Treat infrastructure as code with Terraform and Ansible, ensuring services can be re-deployed without you.

the Senior Backend Engineer:

• Self-managing, opinionated senior IC who partners closely with the Head of Engineering.
• Comfortable in PHP 8.2 (Laravel/Symfony) or comparable stacks with a plan to ramp quickly.
• Strong with relational data modeling at scale (MySQL, MariaDB) and document stores (Firestore).
• Willing to move across the stack into TypeScript and Electron when needed.
