Job Description
The I&C hardware Engineer works within the I&C Engineering team and is responsible for designing and implementing I&C electronic hardware and software for I&C systems for Nuclear Power Plants. The I&C hardware team has strong interfaces with electronic software design and plant system operations. This role requires technical problem solving, strong hardware design skills and effective communication/collaboration with other teams within the GEH business functions.
The Hardware and Test Engineer is responsible for the delivery of high-quality engineering electronic hardware designs and testing strategies. Work scope typically includes developing creative solutions and reduce complexity to create accurate and effective solutions for complex engineering problems. Typical hardware activities will include creating a design from requirements and helping define requirements where necessary. Design activities include schematic design, component selection, PCB layout, PLD/FPGA design, performing simulation/module testing, PLD/FPGA code reviews, and integration testing of the design. This also includes design verification of these same activities.
