Operational Surge/Wave Modeling Development and Support

Role Overview:

• Supports operational marine modeling to protect coastal communities from flooding, surge, and rip currents.
• Works with NWS to transition research capabilities into operations.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and optimize wave and storm surge models within operational architectures.
• Validate outputs using Python and advanced statistical techniques.

Qualifications & Skills:

• M.S. in oceanography, meteorology, or coastal engineering plus 7+ years experience.
• Experience with WAVEWATCH III, SLOSH, ADCIRC, HPC, and object-oriented programming.
