Job Description
The Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) provides support in delivering school-based occupational therapy services to students across multiple states under the supervision of a licensed Occupational Therapist (OTR/L). The COTA works collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams to implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs), monitor student progress, and promote participation and access to learning environments.
Responsibilities include providing interventions addressing fine motor skills, visual-motor integration, sensory processing, handwriting, self-care, and functional participation in school routines. The COTA supports studentsβ access to learning through adaptive and assistive strategies, documenting student performance data, delivering services virtually, and working collaboratively with staff. Maintaining accurate documentation and complying with regulations are also key aspects of this role.
