Job Description
The Network Engineer role at Brightspeed involves being responsible for all aspects of network maintenance and support, working both in physical Central Offices and in the field. The role requires availability for overtime and weekend work during outages. Key responsibilities include supporting and maintaining switching equipment, ensuring backup generators are in optimum condition, installing and maintaining special circuits within the TIRKS system, monitoring switch alarm activity, and supporting fiber and copper networks. The engineer will also support transport networks and central office power systems. This role requires familiarity with cabling practices, 3-5 years of switch technician experience, and the ability to resolve issues independently. Knowledge of safety rules and the ability to work with customers and peers along with working outside in all weather conditions is required.
