Staff Software Engineer, Image Operations

This role is responsible for developing and maintaining the pipeline that transforms raw pixels collected by BlackSky’s satellites into imagery products. You will independently design and implement new features and updates for the components making up BlackSky’s core image processing system. Taking an active role in testing, debugging, and documenting implemented software functionality is expected, as is leading the testing and development of automated processes for monitoring service quality and regression testing of the image processing system. Additional responsibilities include participating in design sessions, providing insightful feedback, analyzing designs for scalability and performance, assisting with operational tasks, proactively identifying requirement problems, mentoring engineers, and engaging with stakeholders to solve cross-functional challenges.
