Senior Machine Learning Engineer - Training Platform

Role and Impact:

• Focus on building the systems and infrastructure that support AI training workloads at scale, impacting multiple teams across Canva's AI Platform group.
• Contribute to the design and architecture of a unified training platform, improving its capabilities for scheduling, resource allocation, and quota management.
• Mentor engineers and share best practices to enhance the overall maturity and scalability of training infrastructure.

Team Collaboration:

• Work closely with research scientists, AI engineers, product teams, and cloud/infrastructure partners to enable reliable and efficient training workflows.
• Collaborate on cross-functional projects to address user pain points and drive the long-term direction of Canva's training infrastructure.
• Engage in system design decisions that support the end-to-end training lifecycle, from experimentation to artifact management.

Growth and Development:

• Gain deep expertise in large-scale AI training systems, Kubernetes orchestration, and distributed infrastructure for high-performance workloads.
• Influence platform-wide architecture and best practices while working with world-class ML engineers and applied scientists.
• Develop skills in cloud, storage, and networking capabilities essential for modern AI training environments, shaping how AI is built and scaled globally.
