Staff Security Engineer

As an L6 Security Engineer at Patreon, you'll be an in-house generalist, acting as an architect, operations specialist, developer, and consultant. You'll manage projects from start to finish, collaborating with Engineering, Product, and DevOps teams to integrate security into all aspects of the platform. Your responsibilities include designing, building, and maintaining internal systems for data classification, retention, and automated deletion in compliance with GDPR, CCPA, and other regulations. You'll also harden Kubernetes environments by developing and enforcing security policies, conducting threat modeling, and automating remediation. Additionally, you'll create Python scripts and applications to detect misconfigurations, enforce security guardrails, and streamline incident response. You'll participate in on-call rotations, manage bug bounty programs, and provide security reviews and advisory services to engineering teams.
