Head of Real Estate

The Head of Real Estate will lead the strategy, execution, and management of Wahed’s residential real estate investments across the United States, United Kingdom, and Malaysia. This remote role requires a seasoned professional with deep expertise in residential real estate, fund management, portfolio management, and risk management to build and oversee a high-performing investment portfolio that will be crowdsourced on Wahed’s core platform. The individual will develop and implement a comprehensive residential real estate investment strategy aligned with Wahed’s ethical and financial objectives, while also sourcing, evaluating, and executing investment opportunities in residential real estate across the US, UK, and Malaysia. The role involves managing a portfolio of real estate assets across the US, UK, and Malaysia, employing strategies to optimize asset maintenance costs, improve cash flow yields, and build a capability that can scale to multiple properties in each jurisdiction. The selected candidate will also manage portfolio and asset risk, ensuring robust risk assessment and mitigation strategies to protect investor capital, collaborating with internal teams, including compliance, legal, and finance, to ensure Shariah-compliant and regulatory adherence. Additionally, the role will entail building and maintaining relationships with external partners, including developers, property managers, and financial institutions, being the main contact point and reporting into the Real Estate Investment Committee. They will provide regular performance reports and strategic insights to the Investment Committee and senior leadership and stay abreast of market trends, regulatory changes, and emerging opportunities in the global residential real estate sector.
