Key Responsibilities:
- Design and model mechanical components to interface with optical elements such as lenses, mirrors, and filters.
- Develop detailed drawings, fabrication, and assembly drawings for optical elements and mechanical hardware.
- Support all levels of optical subsystem integration and testing, and prepare technical presentations.
Required Education, Experience, & Skills:
- Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent with 7+ years of experience.
- Proficiency in CAD software (SolidWorks, NX) for opto-mechanical design.
- Ability to lead design concepts, conduct trade studies, and mitigate manufacturing risks.
Preferred Qualifications:
- BS in a technical field and proficiency in NX or SolidWorks.
- Active TS/SCI clearance is preferred.
- Prior experience with NASA or space flight hardware.
