Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and model mechanical components to interface with optical elements such as lenses, mirrors, and filters.
  • Develop detailed drawings, fabrication, and assembly drawings for optical elements and mechanical hardware.
  • Support all levels of optical subsystem integration and testing, and prepare technical presentations.

Required Education, Experience, & Skills:

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent with 7+ years of experience.
  • Proficiency in CAD software (SolidWorks, NX) for opto-mechanical design.
  • Ability to lead design concepts, conduct trade studies, and mitigate manufacturing risks.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • BS in a technical field and proficiency in NX or SolidWorks.
  • Active TS/SCI clearance is preferred.
  • Prior experience with NASA or space flight hardware.
