Job Description
This position is for an Energy Efficiency Technician in the Metro Detroit area, involving a four-day work week with 10-hour days. You will be provided a company van and need a clean driving record. It is a remote role with no overnight travel and does not involve sales or cold calling, as customers schedule their own appointments. You will be responsible for customer service, equipment maintenance, ladder climbing, and lifting up to 50 lbs. The role involves installation of energy efficiency upgrades, technical advice, status updates to program staff, and issue resolution. Experience and interest in home construction and HVAC equipment are desired for effective customer education and other duties as assigned. 1-3 years of relevant industry experience, computer skills, mechanical aptitude, a high school diploma/GED, and BPI certification is preferred.
