Job Description

The New Mexico Resources Coordinator is responsible for the implementation and coordination of WWC initiatives, including reducing conflicts between wildlife and livestock, and improving economic and regulatory support for wildlife stewardship on working lands. The role requires a minimum of a bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent work experience, along with a working knowledge of wildlife management, conservation practices, land issues, and the policy-making process in the New Mexico Legislature. Duties include coordinating WWC projects, developing strategies, recruiting and facilitating a landowner advisory group, establishing collaborative relationships with government agencies and producer groups, participating in a Conflict Reduction Consortium, connecting landowners with resources, supporting communications and outreach, facilitating workshops, and advising on public policies. The coordinator will also represent WLA at the state legislature and key constituencies.
