Senior Backend Engineer

We’re looking for a Senior Backend Software Engineer to join our Backend Engineering team. This role is a key backfill that will focus on building new backend services and refactoring core systems that power our partner and operations technology. You’ll help evolve the architecture behind our matching and order entry flows — improving speed, reliability, and scalability across the platform. Your work will directly expand the engineering team’s capacity, enabling faster delivery on revenue-generating initiatives. Design and build scalable backend systems and APIs that power our core operational and partner platforms. Refactor and improve existing services to increase developer productivity and reduce tech debt. Collaborate with cross-functional teams (frontend, product, operations) to translate business requirements into reliable, maintainable code. Implement testing best practices (BDD/TDD) to ensure quality, reliability, and performance. Contribute to architecture discussions and help define the evolution of our backend systems. Proactively propose alternative solutions, weighing risks and rewards thoughtfully. Mentor teammates through code reviews, pair programming, and technical guidance. Embrace feedback loops and share learnings from challenges to drive team growth.
