This role primarily focuses on the mechanical reliability testing and improvements while having a strong supporting role in the other design stages. Day-to-day duties include test planning, execution and supporting the production of fleet hardware through a combination of root cause analysis, CAD design, drawing creation, testing and assisting in fleet deployment.
Design and model mechanical components using CAD tools (SolidWorks, Creo, etc.) Perform Finite Element Analysis (FEA) for structural, thermal, and mechanical systems. Collaborate on systems that integrate mechanical components with Printed Circuit Boards (PCBs). Analyze and simulate systems using MATLAB. Generate detailed engineering drawings, BOMs, and documentation. Support prototyping, testing, and cross-functional collaboration (electrical, manufacturing, QA)
