We're looking for a great Engineering Team Lead with strong people leadership, delivery and operations experience as well as a technical software engineering background to join us. You'll lead a pod of engineers who own a number of platform products, creating and maintaining platforms that can scale and support Xero's continuing growth. You'll be responsible for supporting your direct reports, empowering them to deliver high-quality software and fostering the growth of a world-class engineering culture.

You’ll shape the technical vision and architecture for how millions of small businesses move money globally. You will set the direction for building scalable, reliable, resilient, and performant systems, while remaining hands-on to elevate engineering quality across teams. Play a key role in Xero's Payments Platform, building end-to-end systems that redefine how millions of small businesses move money. Work across both frontend and backend layers, contributing to scalable APIs, robust services, and intuitive user experiences. Contribute to initiatives for the delivery of a large, consistent, and scalable Design System. Build, maintain, and improve the organisation's Design System, including reusable UI components, patterns, and guidelines. Partner with Design and Accessibility teams in building high-quality, reusable components and experiences.

Undertake software application development on applications in our suite of Products (including new ones), contributing to new or improved experiences for our customers, internal and external. Maintain the standard for engineering excellence at Xero, continuing to develop your knowledge and skills, and supporting your team members in building products together. Contribute to our cross functional environment by working towards the same objectives, using modern principles and practices. Help build and manage software that solves engineering problems at scale.
