Data is central to The Athletic's decision-making processβit guides how we build and market our product, as well as how we produce content. We're looking for a Senior Data Analyst who will be defining core business metrics, answering high-impact strategic questions, and scaling analytics tools and methodologies. You'll be collaborating closely with cross-functional teams including Product, Engineering, and Data Science to deliver insights that shape the user experience and drive engagement.
Inform our product strategy by developing a deep understanding of sports media, our users, and how they engage with our product. Communicate with and advise a variety of stakeholders ranging from senior leadership to product managers. Establish a relationship and build trust between them and the data organization. Work closely with product management to provide insights into user behavior and feature performance and help iterate on products that are loved by our users. Build and own self-service analytics tools and dashboards and define new metrics to provide better visibility into business performance and improve forecast accuracy. Collaborate closely with engineers to implement event tracking, experiments, and data pipelines. This role is 100% remote for candidates currently residing in the United States or Canada.
